TINS WEY GO SURPRISE YOU WHEN YOU ENTER YANKEE

For today post, I wan try to list out some of de tins wey you go notice for yankee wey dey different from wetin you dey used to. And when some of dem go take you some time before you adjust to am. Make you check dem out!

• When you sneeze, anybody wey dey around you suppose tell you "Bless You". Dat one confuse me de first time wey ee happen to me. For Naija when you sneeze, you wey sneeze suppose say "excuse me".

• When you wan write date, you suppose write month first den day and den de year. For example if you wan write de date for today, you go write- 10/19/2014. For Naija ee suppose be 19/10/2014.

• Na for yankee I realize say people dey make tea with ice wata. Dem dey call am ice tea. And dem no dey eva put milk inside dem tea.

• For here, when you enter bus, make you no expect to see any conductor. Nobody go dey shout de destination of de bus. All you need to do na to check de name wey dem write for de front of de bus, ee go tell you where de bus dey go. And make you expect change from bus drive, always hold de exact bus fare.

• When you eat for most restaurant, de workers go expect you to drop dem some extra money. Dem dey call am "tip". Dat tin been hard me to do initially. But with time you get to do wetin odas dey do.

• When you go filling station, na you go pump ya own fuel for ya moto. Either you pay with ya credit card for de pump machine or you go inside de store to pay for ya fuel.

• Make sure say ya air condition and heater for ya moto dey work proper. Dis na because of de way wey weather dey change for here. No management for dis one.

• For here, primary and secondary schools get only two terms (semester). First temr na from september to december, and second term na from january to may.

• For some people, when sometin bad happen to dem like dem fall or de person wound and you tell am sorry, dem go tell you no be ya fault so you no need to tell dem SORRY.

• Dem like to roast meat here oo! Dem dey call am barbeque. For all dem holidays, almost everybody dey roast meat outside.

• Dem no know wetin be palm oil, plantain no dey common (except if you go mexican, african or asian store) and people dey fia food wey get pepper inside.

• Pig meat dey popular here. And dem like cheese and pickle (cucumber inside vinegar).

• You no suppose iron ya dress in advance, tinking say "NEPA" fit take light, lol! Dat one happen to me plenty times. Here dem no get wahala with light. Na im make dem be developed country.
